General Manager – Archdiocese of Dublin – Dublin

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin is the largest diocese in Ireland extending to 199 parishes bordering 5 counties. A position has arisen for a General Manager and is being offered on a five year fixed term basis. The role of General Manager will incorporate the position of Financial Administrator which is a canonical appointment as set out in Canon 494 of the Code of Canon Law.

The Role:

Reporting to the Archbishop, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the Diocese in the areas of Finance, Investment, Property, Human Resources and Information Technology in support of the pastoral mission of the Archbishop. In each of these offices the General Manager will be supported by senior staff with specific areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Archbishop, the Moderator of the Curia and the Diocesan Finance Committee.

The successful candidate will

Be empathetic to the core values of the Archdiocese of Dublin.
Be a proven leader and will have experience of managing in a complex organisation with a number of stakeholders and with competing needs.
Hold a recognised Degree/Masters Degree in Business Management or appropriate qualification.
Have proven financial management experience at a senior level.
Ideally have knowledge of the structures of the Archdiocese of Dublin.
Have at least 15 years senior management experience with evidenced results.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Have highly developed negotiating and influencing ability.
Have excellent organisational and analytical skills.
Be able to demonstrate that they meet the following skills/competencies;
Leadership and direction
Critical analysis and decision making
Managing and delivering results
Communication and personal effectiveness
