The Western Region Drug & Alcohol Task Force was set up in 2003 on foot of recommendations from the National Drugs Strategy (NDS), to facilitate a more effective response to substance misuse issues in the Western Region. The Western Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force (WRDATF) is assigned responsibility for the development and implementation of a Drug and Alcohol Strategy for counties, Galway, Mayo & Roscommon.
The Western Region Drug & Alcohol Task Force works in partnership with statutory, voluntary and community sectors to significantly reduce the harm by strengthening collaboration and capacity within the region,
The WRDATF are looking for an interested agency to host a Drug & Alcohol Family Support Worker on behalf of the Western Region Drugs & Alcohol Task Force. The Western Region Drugs & Alcohol Task Force is a registered Charity and is funded by the HSE.
The funded worker will be based in Mayo only. The host agency will be required to employ the Family Support Worker. All terms of employment are with the host agent. The funding for this post will be allocated from the Western Region Drug & Alcohol Task Force budget. The funding allocation for the post is 12 months with extensions contingent on funding and partnership agreement.
The WRDATF will not be able to provide a financial reward for any organisation who agrees to host the post.
