Relief Care Support Worker – Cheshire Ireland

The Role:
To provide care and support to Cheshire Ireland service users, in a safe, respectful, empathic and person-centred manner, and to facilitate people to live a life of their own choosing. It is critical that when undertaking your work with people who use Cheshire services you do so in a manner that is consistent with Cheshire Ireland’s ethos and values.

The Person:
Is committed to the principles of rights-based, person-centred services and is keen to accept the challenges involved in the ongoing delivery of such services.
Is patient and has an understanding of the issues experienced by people with physical disabilities.
Has the ability to work as part of a team.
Is outgoing and has a positive outlook on life, good interpersonal skills and is an excellent communicator.
Has the ability to communicate openly and effectively with service users, their family members, other staff and management.
Welcomes change, and is committed to continuous quality improvement and learning throughout the organisation.
Should have at least FETAC Level 5 qualification and/or 1 year’s work experience in related areas such as personal assistance/care support, community development or social care and/or community regeneration. Social Care or Nursing qualification desireable.
May also have experience of supporting people through periods of change and life transition, and of networking across a range of community services.
Must have full driver’s license
Must have knowledge of HIQA and standards as they relate to disability services
Salary range: Dependent on experience
