Assistant Manager – Cheeverstown House

Full-Time – 39 hours per week

This Person in Charge / Manager post will have responsibility for coordinating and leading the continued provision and development of meaningful, person-centred services/supports and opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities who avail of our residential services. The post holder will demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities with experience in the area of human rights and advocacy. This post will hold the responsibility of “Person in Charge” (PIC) for the relevant designated centre(s), as per HIQA regulations and will require the post holder to:

Support people in residential services to move to community living arrangements by means of Supported Self Directed Living and other projects supported by the organisation.
To promote and support community involvement by people in residential services.
Ensure that the Policies of the organisation are implemented and adhered to. Operate within the framework of the policies, character and ethics which govern the work of the organisation.
To communicate openly with and assist people who use our residential services, parents, families and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.
Ensure that staff establish and maintain relationships with people who use our residential service based on respect and equality and promote their independence in keeping with the values of the organisation.
Provide cross cover within residential setting and deputise for the manager as and when required.

The successful candidate will:
Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience as a Nurse in an intellectual disability setting.
Possess an appropriate management qualification and some management experience with a proven record of continuous professional development.
Exhibit an excellent knowledge of understanding of developments in HSE Social Care Policy and national regulations, particularly HIQA’s National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities to ensure that HIQA standards are complied with to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Possess a full clean driver’s licence.
Have proven ability of providing a high level of leadership and of working as part of the management team in Residential Services.
Have proven ability of managing and motivating staff in providing a comprehensive service in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, based on best practice and ensuring staff supports are delivered to maximise valued outcomes for the individual.
Have proven ability of supervising, motivating and supporting staff in their work and facilitating good working relationships within staff teams.
Have good interpersonal and team building skills.
Have good organisational, administrative and IT Skills.
Exhibit knowledge of the Council of Quality and Leadership, Personal Outcome Measures (POMS) Quality Assurance System.
Flexibility in location within the Cheeverstown catchment area is required.

Salary will be paid at Clinical Nurse Manager 2 scale as per current Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales.
