Family Support Worker – Raheen Family Resource Centre – Co Wexford

The overall purpose of the job is:
To support and work in close collaboration with the Voluntary Management Committee and the Project Manager to implement the Resource Centre’s aims and objectives.
These include helping to build confidence and the capacity of individuals, families and groups through development and support of appropriate programmes and activities. Liaise and network with relevant agencies and service providers within the community and be willing to engage in interagency projects.

3 years frontline experience of working with children & families. Also, with groups who experience social exclusion.
3rd level qualification in Family Support, Community Development, Youth Work, Social Care or related field.
Knowledge and experience of family support in a community-based setting, including referrals & signposting to appropriate Agencies & Departments.
Knowledge of Parenting Programmes.
Experience of initiating and developing community-based initiatives.
Experience in accessing funding.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and group facilitation skills.
Good computer, report writing & Social Media skills
Experience of multi-agency collaboration.
Ability to work on own initiative & demonstrate a strong teamwork ethic.
Own transport & a full clean driver’s licence.
Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends.

Details of the post:
The position is part time, 17.5 hours per week.
The contract is permanent, subject to continued funding by Tusla
A six-month probation period will apply.
Garda vetting is essential.
The weekly pattern will be negotiated with successful applicant
Annual leave is 23 days, pro rata.
