Fundraising Officer – Orbis Ireland – Dublin

JOB SUMMARY
This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Development team at Orbis Ireland. Orbis Ireland is an affiliate office of Orbis International – an international sight-saving charity working to eliminate avoidable blindness. Orbis Ireland seeks to recruit a Fundraising Officer to assist with Orbis Ireland’s fundraising events and initiatives. As a small office of two employees, this is an opportunity for a highly motivated, creative individual to bring their ideas and experience to a new role. REPORTING & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Development Director and liaises with Orbis staff members and board members in Orbis Ireland and global offices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Development Director to develop key fundraising and communications initiatives to deliver Orbis’s fundraising programme. The role will focus on, but is not limited to:

Assisting with planning and execution of Orbis Ireland’s annual events and initiatives. This includes the promotion of fundraising events and initiatives and stewarding participants.
Working with the Development Director to create new fundraising campaigns and initiatives in line with the annual business plan and budget.
Assisting with the promotion of the Orbis brand to increase visibility across Orbis Ireland.
Liaising with the Orbis global team to collate relevant content for fundraising and communications campaigns.
Supporting the expansion of Social Media fundraising
Conducting the necessary administration involved in fundraising.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Experience in delivering successful fundraising campaigns
Experience in project management of marketing campaigns or events in the charity sector.
Excellent administration skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft word, outlook and excel.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to work within a small team environment and therefore work on own initiative.
Excellent organisational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills: ability to effectively execute detail-oriented tasks with the appropriate sense of urgency and priority.
The ability to function with limited staff support and an appreciation and understanding of the benefits and challenges of working within an international organisation.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a desire to work and develop within the not-for-profit industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment based in Dalkey, Co. Dublin. Hybrid working available.
The position is full-time (35 hours per week). Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Some travel is required, including travel to other Orbis offices globally.
Attendance at all Orbis Ireland events is essential. Events often occur after normal work hours and/or on weekends.
