Head of Finance – Youth Work Ireland

The Head
of Finance manages the national finances of Ireland’s largest Youth Work organization. This includes the processing of grants from Government Departments, National and European Agencies, Trusts and Corporates etc. The Head of Finance is responsible for the development and management of the financial function at National Office as agreed within the annual budget, the Youth Work Ireland Finance Policy and financial contracts as approved by Youth Work Ireland Management and the National Board. In addition to ensuring that Youth Work Ireland is fully compliant with its obligation to the CRO, Charities Regulator, the requirements of funders, the role also involves carrying out the Governance and Finance Audits of Member Youth Services as part of the Compliance Team in National Office. In addition, the Head of Finance provides support and advice for our 21 Member Youth Services in the areas of Finance and Governance. The post also involves overseeing a number of administrative staff and the administration of a Georgian city center building.
Candidates should have an appropriate qualification in finance and or accountancy with five years’ experience. Knowledge of, and commitment to, the voluntary and community sector would also be an advantage.

The candidate
should have a thorough knowledge of, and experience in, financial control procedures, Internal Audit, Payroll, HR, SORP FRS102 and line management. Knowledge of SAGE 50 accounts would also be an advantage.

Salary Scale:
