Meals on Wheels Delivery Driver – Offaly Local Development Company

Duties of Driver – 19.5
The daily work duties of the driver are as follows:

Customer Service:
To liaise daily with manager re: weekly work schedule by telephone or in person.
To liaise with food preparation staff daily and support the collection and distribution of dinners as appropriate.
To link with office and organise daily logistics of orders onsite including labour support driver staff plus own hours.
To complete daily deliveries for customers as assigned by the Manager, individually or in a team with volunteers.
To liaise with the manager on the purchase of equipment and materials to support work done.
To report on all deliveries undertaken daily and agree same with administrator or manager on a weekly basis.
To immediately contact manager with any concerns regarding customers or product observed during delivery of dinners.
Complete Time Sheet records on all hours worked in accordance with time sheets and agree same weekly with administrator or manager.
To collect and keep a record of all monies due for dinners delivered by you, and agree same weekly with administrator or manager.
Ensure all deliveries are carried out to the best of their ability and to the highest standards always.
To attend relevant training as required by the Board or Pobal
Ensure that client confidentiality and dignity are maintained always.

Health and Safety:
To ensure, in association with the Manager, that all deliveries are completed in compliance with all relevant workplace legislation and in line with current best practice, in relation to, inter alia, health and safety and measures against harassment and discrimination;
To wear Meals on Wheels labelled PPE and work clothing as provided as required.
To take good care of Clothing and PPE provided
To use equipment etc.. given in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and with respect to previous experience and training guidelines.
Ensure that all work areas are a safe and healthy environment for you the worker and the customers
To communicate with managers immediately regarding any health and safety issues that arise
To attend relevant health and safety training
To report and record any accidents or incidents that occur
For 19.5 hour driver this will be worked over 4 days and one kitchen site according to the following work hours:-

Monday 9.30 to 3.30pm (logistics and deliveries)
Tuesday 10.30 to 12pm (paperwork)
Wednesday 9.30 to 3.30pm (logistics and deliveries)
Friday 10 to 4.30pm (logistics and deliveries)
Requirements
Full clean drivers licence
Delivery driver experience including logistics management
Proven experience working in a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills
Experience working with older people and their needs

This is a community Services Programme supported position where priority will be given to applicants from these target groups.
