Childcare Committee was established in 2002 to strategically co-ordinate the sustainable development of an accessible and holistic quality childcare infrastructure in South Dublin County. South Dublin CCC is funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY)and acts as the local agent for DCEDIY in South Dublin County.
As Programme Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of our annual statement of work, working closely with the Manager and our dedicated team.

Your core duties will include:
Offer general advice, information and support pertaining to all aspects of the childcare sector to ELC and SAC providers, Childminders, Parent and Toddler groups, Parents, and local agencies within the remit of South Dublin including the implementation of the government childcare subsidies and grants, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and quality development.
Identify training needs, develop and deliver training to ELC and SAC services that will enhance the quality-of-service provision.
Co-ordination and administration of grant programmes with services such as the Parent and Toddler Grant and Learner Fund Bursaries.
Support the manager and the wider team with developing operational systems and implementing operational processes.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a nationally recognized Level 7/8 qualification in childcare/early year’s education, at least three years of experience in a leadership role, and a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and quality framework in the early learning and care sector.
Proficiency in developing and delivering training, experience in supporting individuals and groups in the early years’ sector, and strong project management skills are desirable. We value personal attributes such as commitment, motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This position is a fixed-term contract until December 2023, with flexibility required for evening and weekend work. You’ll enjoy 26 days of annual leave and a pension plan after the successful probationary period.
This role is aligned to Grade 5 of the Local Government Salary Scales.
Our current office is located in Clondalkin, Dublin, with hybrid working options available.
