Social Care Workers – Residential Services – Cumas New Ross – Co Wexford

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
To develop and maintain a home-like environment where residents are supported to live an ordinary life, make choices and decisions about their lives, learn new skills, and maximise their independence.
To promote and develop person cantred standard of service that ensures equality, and that the dignity and confidentiality of each resident is respected and observed

Essential skills required:
Minimum level 7 QQI Qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies or other relevant qualification
Full clean driving licence
Experience working within an adult disability setting

Desirable skills:
Knowledge of the Assisted decision Making (Capacity) Act
Fire Safety Training
Management of Actual or Potential Aggression Training (MAPA)
Report Writing

Computer Skills
First Aid Responder Training
Safeguarding Awareness
Manual Handling and People Moving
Competencies, Skills and Personal Attributes:
Understand the impact of the Assisted decision Making (capacity) Act 2015
Understand the values and ethos of National Interim Standards and the United Convention of the Rights of persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD)
Working knowledge of Person Centred Plans and Care Plans.
Commitment of delivering service through a person centred, inclusive, and rights based approach
Excellent ability to work alone and as a part of a team
Strong written, verbal and listening skills
Excellent standards of conduct and confidentiality
Self-driven, proactive and dedicated
Be able to demonstrate flexibility in support of the team
Be able to demonstrate an equality-based approach

Positions are based in New Ross, Co. Wexford. A six-month probationary period will apply.
