We are looking for an instructor for our sports and recreation department. This is a role for someone who has the interest and ability to join the team supporting and motivating the men and women of Dublin South East in their chosen sports which include bowling, football, table tennis, swimming, bocce, and anything they may wish to do.
A key part of this role will be to facilitate our Special Olympians in their chosen sports for 2017-2018.
Candidates should have the following:
A relevant qualification in sports or associated field, i.e. social care
Previous experience of working with people with an intellectual disability
Previous experience with Special Olympics Sports Programme, desirable.
Demonstrable interest in Sports
Ability to develop and implement sports programme for adults with an intellectual disability.
Commitment to a Person Directed Planning approach
Interest in and knowledge of health and sport trends, research and new ideas.
Ability to work as part of a team and on your own leading a class
Supporting adults with their Personal Care
Positive Behaviour Support
Working with people with autism
Full driving licence essential.
Note: Must be available to work weekends and evenings, when required.
