Support Worker – Residential Roster – Dara Community Living

ROLE SUMMARY
Dara Community Living provides supported living to people with Intellectual Disabilities to live ordinary lives in their own home in the community. We are seeking to recruit a team of flexible and enthusiastic, staff who have the right values to work with people who need support in all aspects of their lives.
This is a new supported living arrangement for a young active gentleman in Celbridge, Co. Kildare. As part of a team, the successful candidate will provide support with daily living skills in this gentleman’s home. Staff with a particular interest in getting out for walks, fitness and the great outdoors.

MAIN DUTIES:
To support a gentleman with Autism to live in his own tenancy where he will develop skills required for independent living – personal and intimate care, grooming, cooking, laundry, home keeping.
To be committed to developing a supportive person-centred relationship characterised by a genuine commitment to people with disabilities.
To support this gentleman with accessing his community in particular with walks and fitness activities.
To assist in developing and maintaining contacts within the community including the development of relationships with others such as family and friends.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
A clear and evidential commitment to supporting people with disabilities to live an ordinary life
A Full, clean driver’s license
Available to do sleepover, night duty and work a residential roster – evenings and weekend duty
Comfortable and experienced with lone working.
Enjoy outdoor activities and keeping fit

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Experience in the social care/intellectual disability sector preferably in Residential settings
Experience supporting individuals with Autism
SALARY: The salary will be commensurate with qualifications, level of skills and experience of the successful applicant.
