Tender Request – Blanchardstown Area Partnership

Blanchardstown Area Partnership (BAP) request tenders to deliver ESOL courses under the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). This will consist of Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and QQI Level 3 English as a Second Language with Job Seeking module. All courses will run from January – December 2017 and we anticipate running these in Dublin 15, Swords and Balbriggan. Dates to be confirmed.

Aim

The courses aim to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and competence to communicate and interact at an introductory level in English, socially and in simple work related tasks. Providing the highest standard of training, these courses will allow each person to receive as much relevant information as possible, which will assist participants onto vocational training courses, labour market training or employment.

QQI Level 3 English as a Second Language

To provide delivery of English as a Second Language to QQI Level 3, (20 hours a week for 5 weeks @ 4 hours a day, 5 days a week totalling 100 hours)

The English Language course could consist of the following:

Communicate in a social/work setting
Give personal information in response to spoken and written questions
Repair a breakdown in communication
Enquire about and express notions of time and quantity
Enquire about and express notions of space and location
Read and write passages
The QQI Level 3 may include a Job Seeking Module – depending on the need and ability of participants. It will be for a maximum of one week (20 hours) and may include the following:

Career Guidance and motivation
CV preparation and presentation
Interview skills/ role play
Job seeking skills
ESOL Courses

To provide delivery of English as a second language at Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate level, (15 hours per week for four weeks, 3 hours per day, five days a week totalling 60 hours)

Clients
All clients of the courses will be residents in Fingal County who do not possess sufficient English language capacity or job seeking skills to enable them to access training or employment. Clients will be screened and interviewed by the Community Development Officer and the English Language Tutor before being deemed suitable to attend the course.

Duration, location and timeframe

We will supply appropriate space in the Dublin 15 area, Swords and Balbriggan and this should not be included in tenders.

The successful tenderer will be required to work closely with the Community Development Officer before and after the delivery of the courses in order to pass on relevant information in relation to each client. We also require a report/written feedback on each client from the course and this too should be communicated to the Community Development Officer, who will manage and oversee the smooth running of the courses.
