Lecturers Fixed Term in Information Technology – NUI – Galway

Description

The successful candidates will contribute to teaching of applied software engineering and computer science on the portfolio of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes run in Information Technology, as well as participating in the academic programme management, marketing and outreach activities in the Discipline. The appointed candidates will be expected to develop new curricula, prepare course materials, deliver course work, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their project work, and conduct related administrative duties. A demonstrated ability and substantial experience of lecturing at third level and an excellent understanding of core topics in Computer Science are essential for these posts. Skills Requirements

Normally, a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related area; Significant experience in lecturing at third level, and evidence of a reflective approach to teaching practice; Demonstrated experience of supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student projects; Demonstrated experience of developing and managing academic programmes; Knowledge and experience of technological innovations in teaching; Please see www.nuigalway.ie/about-us/jobs for further criteria required
