Suicide or Survive (SOS) is an Irish charity focussed on breaking down the stigma associated with mental health issues and ensuring that those affected have access to quality recovery services that are right for the individual.
We are working to build a society where people embrace their mental health wellness and those with difficulties are treated with dignity and respect, and experience a service that offers them hope, a safe place and a positive future.
SOS provides four essential programmes;
The Eden Programme was established by SOS to provide a safe space for those in need who have attempted suicide or have had suicidal thoughts.
It provides a supportive weekly group environment over a 6 monthly period in which up to 10/12 participants per program become more aware of their own psychological states and can develop independence in terms of confidence and communication skills, and an understanding of their own options, both therapeutic and personal.
The Wellness workshop is a one day programme for anybody & everybody. SOS is committed to running Wellness Workshops in every community in Ireland. These workshops aim to help each participant understand, take charge of and take responsibility of their own mental health. The workshop can be of benefit to anyone who is interested in mental health and wellness.
WRAP – (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) is a 2.5 day programme designed for an individual to monitor and manage their own mental wellness, through using WRAP an individual will develop their own tailored wellness action plan to monitor and maintain wellness.
The Supporters Programme – 2.5 day programme designed for people supporting family members, friends, neighbours, work colleagues, people in their community and others who are struggling with their mental health.
