Assistant Manager – Lagore Road Community Childcare

Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Lagore Road Community Childcare will be responsible for developing, managing and evaluating the Early Years, the Preschool and Afterschool program for approximately 90 Children that supports and enhances the children’s development, social-emotional learning and academics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Lagore Road Community Childcare the Assistant Manager will be responsible for the overall program management. The Assistant Manager will:
In partnership with the Manager, develop an engaging programme that will be creative and innovative
for children
Support staff in providing supervision and activities appropriate to child’s age and development
Ensure implementation of high-quality programs that are responsive to children and families
Gather all required program data and provide reporting as necessary
Foster self esteem, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Create an atmosphere of safety, belonging and positive development for each child
Provide positive role-modeling for sessional staff and volunteers
Plan and lead age appropriate programs using a team approach
Be self-motivating and enthusiastic in carrying out the duties
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Suitable candidates should hold a minimum of a QQI Level 6 in Early Years; however a BA in Early Childhood Studies is desirable. A valid First Aid Certificate is essential.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in childcare essential.
Excellent working knowledge and experience of working to the Childcare Regulations essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills
