Due to the on-going expansion of our service we currently have the following permanent and temporary vacancies throughout the service. The required experience and qualifications are listed separately for Autism Practitioners / Social Care Workers and Support Workers.

Dublin Positions
A. Dublin 7 Vacancies – Support Worker x 1 – Permanent – 12 hours roster – 12 hours shifts over a rolling 7-day roster
B. Dublin 18 & Dublin 3 – Residential Roster – Autism Practitioner / Social Care Worker – Permanent, Full-time
Gheel Autism Services provides supported living services across Dublin. With this type of support the emphasis is on the development of skills for independent living, recognising individual goals and aspirations and enabling people to be active participants in their local community. The support is provided in line with the individual needs and choices of the person, based on assessment of social, personal and healthcare needs. Staff have the opportunity to work on skill development in context, building capacity for interdependence in community and social networks. In addition, we enable adults to develop essential everyday skills such as: money management, self-care, laundry, general housekeeping and cooking skills.

A full, clean driving licence is required for this position.
North Kildare Positions:
C. Residential Roster – Support Worker- Full-time, 2-year Fixed Term Contract
This position is working on a residential roster based in the vicinity of Maynooth, Co. Kildare supporting adults with Autism over a number of locations. As part of a dedicated support team, you must have the awareness and skillset to support those who experience sensory differences, therefore, enabling them to maximize their experiences both within their own home and the community. Staff are required to promote the wellbeing of all service users across all locations ensuring that they achieve a high quality of life while working under guidelines and standards for the area. One of our Service Users attends day services while the other is more independently focused and is moving toward the ultimate goal of independent living.
A full clean driving licence is required.
D. Residential Roster – Community Social Care Worker Full -Time Specified Purpose Contract (Approx. 7months)
E. Residential Roster – Community Social Care Worker Part – Time Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity Leave)
The Community Support Team (CST) based in Maynooth Co. Kildare was established in October 2018 for adults diagnosed with ASD with the aim of supporting these individuals to build the skills necessary to live independently.
This progressive model of service currently supports 2 individuals to live within their chosen communities in North Kildare. The CST is a highly motivated team which operates by using evidence-based assessments & interventions to support each person to develop independence, well-being & inclusion. The team also provides social and emotional support and assistance with employment and accommodation. The team operates on a support reduction model.
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who enjoys promoting inclusion, happiness and wellbeing. Day to day staff will support people to identify ways to manage/maintain their own household, promote personal safety, develop communication skills, research educational or employment opportunities, financial planning and budgeting and much more.
F. Residential Roster – Support Worker, Full–Time, Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity)

G. Day Services – North Kildare, Support Worker x 1 Whole Time Equivalent (39 hours per week)
Gheel Autism Services provides various options for tailored services across North Kildare. This allows us to offer unique and personalised services which are based on the choices, needs and aspirations of the individual. Our day services are in process of working towards a New Directions model of service delivery. This is also to suit the individual sensory and support needs of adults with autism. Practitioners support and promote development of independent living skills, education and employment possibilities, and social and leisure groups to maximise the individual’s wellbeing and potential. Our Day Services are based in Celbridge where we have recently relocated giving us a new opportunity to develop local links with those, we will be supporting to take full advantage of what local communities have to offer.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland
Or/
A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award.
Or/
Relevant third level qualification at degree level i.e. social work, psychology, and/or allied health.
Or/
Post-graduate qualification in Autism Studies
Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with 2016 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Worker pay scale point 1; €30,293 – point 12; € 44,306 per annum based on working a 39-hour week. All Case Workers operate on a Monday – Friday 39 hour per week roster.

Essential Experience Autism Practitioner/Social Care Workers:
At least one-year recent experience in the social care/disability sector
Experience of dealing with safeguarding and welfare responsibilities and responding appropriately to any concerns.
Experience in liaising and networking with community services.
Ability to promote independence – supporting others to learn how – not doing it for them.
Commitment to the values of Gheel and the philosophy of independent living.
An understanding of the social model of disability.
Be a mindful reflective professional.
Experience of supporting individuals with a diagnosis of ASD.
Demonstrated experience to meet tight deadlines.
Essential Qualifications and Experience for Support Worker positions:

Fetac Level 5 or equivalent in social care
Qualification in Health or Social Science
Essential Experience for Support Workers:
At least one-year recent experience in the social care/disability sector.
Experience working with adults with autism.
Full, clean driving license.
Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with 2016 HSE revised consolidated Care Assistant pay scale point 2; €25,516 – point 13; € 36,680 per annum based on working a 39-hour week. There is 23 days annual leave per annum.

There are positions available across the service in North Kildare, Dublin 3, 6, 7 9, & 18. These are front line positions actively supporting our service users. Successful candidates will gain valuable knowledge and experience in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
