Chief Executive Officer – SERVE in Solidarity Ireland – Cork

The Board of SERVE is recruiting a Chief Executive Officer on a full time basis. The post will be based in Cork. This important appointment, is taking place at a time of transition within the organisation, and offers an excellent opportunity to prospective candidates to strategically influence the future of the organisation.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

To maintain and develop the ethos and spirit and vision of the organisation.
To drive the implementation of a new strategic plan for the organisation.
To formulate, manage and execute focused operational plans with specific emphasis on development, volunteering, communications, fundraising and finance.
To provide leadership and motivation to a team of four/five staff that is conducive to good staff relations and optimal delivery of programmes in favour of beneficiaries.
To consolidate and expand the progress towards the development of a comprehensive suite of organisational and thematic policies.
To strengthen existing key partnership relationships with donors, development partners and other relevant stakeholders.
To communicate with, motivate and engage the principle SERVE constituencies.
To develop and implement business plans that facilitates the strengthening and sustainability of the organisation.
To contribute towards the achievement of best practice in the areas of governance, management for results, measuring impact, evaluation and child safeguarding.
To report to the SERVE board.
Candidates should have strong academic achievements as well as five years’ experience in a leadership and management role in the business, charitable or voluntary sector;
Experience in budget management, sourcing funding and reporting to donors ;
Capacity to mobilise staff and key constituencies to achieve organisational targets around fundraising and volunteering;
Have the ability to motivate a team, enhance and develop individual team member’s performance;
Exhibits an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in addition to displaying excellent interpersonal skills which establish and maintain good working relationships;
Possesses well developed organisational skills in order to meet competing demands by prioritizing objectives and working on own initiative;
Have well developed IT skills;
Full Drivers licence and use of a car;
