To manage and supervise a community employment scheme based in Dublin 4 which produces the local community newspaper and provides support staff to community groups and clubs.
To ensure the effective and efficient management and co-ordination of the human, financial and material resources of the CE Scheme. A core aspect of the role is to support and coach CE participants (21 in total) towards gaining the skills and competencies in preparation for employment.
Identify employment progression route training needs with each participant as part of the Individual Learning Plan process and submit to Dept. Social Protection within the agreed time frame.
Agree training and source cost effective training/development opportunities to meet the needs of the participant.
To establish and maintain records regarding participation of participants.
Liaise with Dept. Social Protection personnel and the project’s Sponsoring Committee.
The ideal candidate should have:
A Relevant Major Award – Level 6 or Higher in Business/Financial Administration, Training, Human Resources, Community Development, Project Management or a related discipline.
Minimum of three year’s supervisory experience.
Office management and organisational skills, an ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Solid understanding of the role of the CE Supervisor as it pertains to project management and programme delivery to Long Term Unemployed.
Knowledge of print and online media an advantage
This is a full time position (39hrs per week) and salary is paid at DSP CE Supervisor Rates

Journalist – CE Scheme position
Duties: Researching and writing community news articles and general/historical pieces for the local newspaper. Meeting deadlines, interviewing subjects, sourcing and pitching stories.
Candidates must have a good command of the English language and an enthusiasm for journalism at a local level.
This is a developmental opportunity and no experience is necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
