Community Employment Supervisor – Southside Partnership DLR

Southside Partnership DLR is an independent local development organisation based in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Our mission is to address disadvantage, social exclusion and inequality through a range of innovative and responsive strategies and actions.

We are now recruiting for the position of Community Employment Supervisor.

This is a full-time position, 39 hours per week (excluding time off for lunch periods). The salary scale is based on the Department of Social Protection (DSP) rate for the role commencing at €639.61 gross per week. Holidays and other terms and conditions are in line with DSP Community Employment operational guidelines.

Duties:
The Community Employment Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Partnership Integrated Community Employment Scheme (PICES) and ensuring that PICES activities support the overall strategic vision, objectives and programmes of Southside Partnership.

Key responsibilities will include:
Supervision and Human Resource responsibilities for all aspects of the scheme.
Establishing the staffing needs of community groups, recruitment/selection of CE staff to meet these needs, drawing up job descriptions and specifications, advertising positions, interviewing and conducting reference checks.
Liaising with Host Groups on all aspects of staff manpower planning and staff development.
Organising external work experience for staff where relevant.
Maintenance of all staff records, including contracts, timesheets and leave records.
Dealing with grievance and disciplinary issues.
Identifying training needs and establishing a training plan/personal action plan for all who engage with the scheme, researching and scheduling appropriate training courses, reviewing training etc.
Maintenance/updating of all project related files, digital and hard copy, including Individual Learner Plans for participants.
Preparing routine reports for Southside Partnership DLR and DSP.
Maintenance of wages, materials and training records and administration of relevant budgets.
Production of PICES newsletter to disseminate information to staff as appropriate.
Liaising closely with other staff within Southside Partnership to identify potential candidates for participation on PICES, e.g. Tús, LES etc., and identifying potential progression support routes for those leaving the scheme e.g. LES, JobClub, enterprise, training, etc.

Candidates must have:
Minimum 3 years’ relevant supervisory experience
A major 3rd level qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) (Minor/component awards at Level 6 or higher are insufficient)
A knowledge of barriers facing the long-term unemployed and an understanding of the principles relating to community development and social inclusion
Own transport with full clean driving licence
Garda vetting will also be required for this position.
