Rialto Youth Project
The Rialto Youth Project, founded in the early 1980’s, has established a reputation for developing innovative and creative youth work processes and is now looking to fill a position with a person of leadership and vision.
Respect for the innate abilities and life experiences of young people inform a range of working methodologies and programme responses through the arts, sports/ cultural and recreational processes – among others – which are designed to suit the individual needs of young people and in particular those most at risk.
The Project aims to provide a comprehensive youth service, supporting community development and realising social change in the wider society
The Project invites applications for the following full time post:
Community Youth Worker
The ideal candidate will have a real commitment to the ethos and values of the project and fit one of the following three profile requirements:
A professionally endorsed qualification in youth and community work is essential + 2 years experience of working with young people at risk is desirable
An equivalent professional qualification or degree + 2 years full time experience of working with young people at risk is essential
Worked as a full time youth worker without formal qualifications for at least 3 years – essential
In addition to the above the candidate will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of youth work, an understanding of current trends in substance mis-use, have a proven track record of relevant experience and possess a range of practical skills and attributes suited to the particular needs and challenges of the Rialto Youth Project as it currently operates.
