Health Support Worker with Programme Refugees – County Kildare LEADER Partnership

Funded by the H.S.E., the Health Support Project Worker will coordinate Health Care service provision to Refugees living in the Emergency Reception & Orientation Centre (EROC) in Hazel Hotel, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.

The Health Support Worker will provide Refugees with relevant health & wellbeing information to signpost access to health care and supports services; support health service providers in providing services to the Refugees in the Monasterevin EROC.

Applicants for the post of Health Support Worker should have a relevant qualification or demonstrate suitable experience in the areas of Community Health, Human Rights, Community Development or a related field. Experience of working in health care or a related sector and knowledge of Intercultural Health is also desirable. The successful applicant must have the ability to work on their own initiative and have excellent communication, reporting, I.T., facilitation and networking skills.

The position is part time, minimum 12 hours per week (three mornings/afternoons per week). Salary will be at point 1 of the project worker scale. The duration of the position will be for a twelve month period subject to normal contractual conditions.

An ability to speak Arabic is desirable.
