LGBT Service Development Officer – LGBT Ireland

Purpose of this Post:
This post offers an exciting opportunity to consolidate and develop LGBT Ireland’s frontline services through building the capacity of our nationwide team of volunteers to promote and expand the services we offer at local level.
The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and development of LGBT Ireland’s frontline services in line with the organisation’s National Quality Standards. The successful candidate will also play a key role in linking with other relevant organisations and professionals to increase awareness and uptake of our services.

Structure of this Post:
This is a part time role (3 days per week) on a six-month contract, with scope to expand the role beyond six months, subject to funding.

The post holder will report directly to the CEO.
The key roles and responsibilities will include:
Overall co-ordination, development and review of LGBT Ireland’s services in line with the needs of the service users and best practice.
Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, regulations and best practice standards.
Ensure all relevant service policies and procedures are in place and are regularly reviewed.
Deliver participatory training to volunteers to build their capacity to engage with local stakeholders to raise awareness and increase the uptake of our services.
Provide support to the local volunteer coordinators including organisation and facilitation of the coordinators’ quarterly forums.
Provide support to the DLP, with risk assessments and child safeguarding statements.
Ensure that the data management system used by frontline services is in line with current Data Protection legislation and relevant policies.
Liaise with funders, ensure service and reporting standards are met as per SLAs.
Participate in opportunities to promote the work of the organisation externally.
Person Specification

Essential Qualifications
A minimum of level 7 qualification in a relevant social care area as recognised by the QQI.
Essential requirements for the role are:
Ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in and knowledge of LGBT+ issues
Ability to work in a developing and dynamic voluntary organisation
Ability to be responsive, flexible, creative, problem solve and deal with change
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead, co-ordinate and motivate volunteers
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent organisational and report writing skills and a competent IT user
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively
The salary scale for this post ranges from €32,076 to €41,656, salary offered will be subject to experience.
