Saint John of God Community Services, Dublin South East provides a network of education, training, employment, respite and community living supports to children with a mild intellectual disability in the Dublin South East Region.

Manager – Children’s Day Services/Vocational Training

Dublin South East Services – Saint Augustine’s, Blackrock

Specified Purpose (approx. 1 year) – Full Time

A vacancy exists for a manager (Grade 746) to work with a team in leading, reviewing and adapting vocational/training programmes in order to ensure that our service continues to meet the needs of students.

The successful candidate must have:

A relevant 3rd level qualification e.g. Social Care / Allied Health / Management / Teaching etc.
Demonstrable knowledge of labour market opportunities and requirements.
Experience of working with young adults with learning difficulties in developmental, educational, training and / or work programmes.
Understanding and experience of Positive Behaviour Support
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Effective team management and change management skills.
A good understanding of outcomes-based services and supports.
Proven ability to demonstrate creativity and initiative when identifying opportunities for meaningful occupation, community involvement, interaction and participation.
An understanding of the importance of natural support networks.
A full clean driving licence.
