We are currently recruiting Person Support Workers to grow our innovative and dedicated staff team.

The Service:
St. Margaret’s is a rights and capacity based service, supporting people with an intellectual disability in their move from residential services to their own homes in the community. As a specialist & leader in supported self-directed living, we support, enable and empower each person to live a socially valued and inclusive life that they control at the heart of their family, community and society.

We are currently recruiting permanent full-time and part- time & relief staff to support people who live at the Residential Service (will be moving to homes in the community) in Donnybrook and in South Dublin. The successful candidate may work in the community with those who have moved to their own homes and also with individuals living at home who require community inclusion and other supports.

Person Support Workers:
You will work on an individualised basis, one person at a time; empowering and inspiring. You will provide supports and create an environment that supports the person to make choices and have meaningful activities/roles and interactions in their life. Flexibility in responding to the changing needs of each person as they transition from living in a residential service to their own home.

As a member of the Person Support Team, you will energetically support each person to lead a fulfilling life based around their individual needs, community participation, respect and community presence.

You will be trained, mentored and supported in all aspects of your role and will receive on-going professional development and specialised training in areas such as Supported Self-Directed Living.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Minimum QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification in Social Care/Social Studies.

The ideal candidates will also have:
An understanding/experience of key-working
Relevant knowledge, experience and insight in a similar role working with vulnerable people in health & social care or the community sector
Experience, through their work, of enabling, empowering and inspiring people with support needs to live independent and meaningful lives
Empathy and works on own initiative
Other Requirements

This position is subject to successful Garda Vetting, medical review and references
Work locations may include St. Margaret’s, Donnybrook and other locations in South Dublin
