Workshop Supervisor – Dublin – Mendicity Institution

Our vision is to expand and diversify the Mendicity Workshop activities and projects. Therefore, we have identified the need for an enthusiastic, hardworking and creative person, with excellent interpersonal skills to fulfil the role of Workshop Supervisor.

Workshop Supervisor:
This role includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Supervise the manufacturing of products.
Ensure efficient quality control.
Research appropriate and innovative ideas for new projects.
Build positive relationships with the clients and service users who are staffing the workshop.
Keep accurate track of workshop staff timetable.
Develop project plans and schedule project timelines.
Liaise with various companies, community groups and associations for creating and sustaining small project opportunities for service users.
Make regular reports to the Mendicity manager and coordinators.

In addition, we would like the Supervisor to take on the following responsibilities, as requested:
Provide preventive outreach on the premises.
Supervise activities that relate to the Mendo Shed.
Coordinate the team to help with building maintenance as instructed.

Candidate requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in craft employment (carpentry, tailoring, etc.)
Empathy and ability to motivate, empower and encourage a small team.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Flexibility and creative approaches to problem-solving.
Ability to propose and carry through innovative ways of securing small projects.
Experience in the social sector (desirable).
This is a part time position, starting 20 hours/week, with the potential for full time employment.

Salary – at 30,000 Euros p.a. pro rata
