FamiliBase is a centre for children, young people and families based in Ballyfermot. FamiliBase is recruiting for the position of Temporary Youth Worker for its Youth Work Programme. The Youth Work Programme is a key element of FamiliBase’s continuum of care including a Substance Misuse Programme, Arts Programme, Child Welfare Programme, Teen Parent Support Programme and, Childcare Service.
The Temporary Youth Work position requires direct work with young people who may be at risk of and/or experiencing social exclusion. Multiple complex issues impact upon the lives of this specific target group, the youth worker will have the responsibility to ensure wrap around support is available, coordinated and case managed, in partnership with all relevant community and statutory services. The Youth Worker will develop and implement informal educational and personal development programmes through outreach, individual work, group work, FamiliBase innovations and joint local initiatives.
As well as the essential and desirable criteria as outlined on the attached Job Description, applicants must possess the following;
Demonstrated flexible attitude to work
Demonstrated ability to work within a wider continuum of service delivery
Capacity to ensure the organisational policies and procedures support the needs-led nature of the practice in FamiliBase
A commitment to working a ‘wrap around’ model of service delivery
The successful candidates will only be appointed after successful completion of Garda vetting and reference checks.
