Communications and Campaigns Officer – Dublin Rape Crisis Centre

Reporting to the CEO, the Communications and Campaigns Officer will:
Assist in the development and implementation of the DRCC’s campaigns and communications strategy and report on the performance of same versus defined KPIs;
Collaborate with others as appropriate to achieve a wider impact for DRCC’s work
Create and manage campaigns and content including articles, press releases, videos, photographs, social media content;
Write, produce, disseminate, analyse and optimise e-newsletters;
Devise and co-ordinate regular campaigns to achieve DRCC outcomes and generate national coverage;
Manage the organisation website in collaboration with colleagues – defining the content strategy, maintaining the site, analysing and optimising the performance of the site to achieve the Centre’s objectives;
Manage social media platforms;
Engage with DRCC stakeholders particularly victims/survivors and the general public in empowering the voices of survivors and sympathisers to be heard in an impactful way;
Develop speaking points for DRCC spokespeople;
Assist with the development of external and internal communications, campaigns and events as required;
Monitor and analyse media and issues coverage across traditional and digital channels in tandem with web and social analyses to understand the impact being made and optimise the strategy accordingly;
Develop and maintain relevant media relationships, identifying media opportunities, which highlight and advance the DRCC’s activities and purpose;
Assist in the development and delivery of Communication materials for all functions;
Work with colleagues throughout the organisation to develop content calendars, content for use across channels – in particular web and social.

Skills and experience:
Excellent writing and oral communications skills
Experienced in delivering effective campaigns on behalf of not-for-profit organisations
Proven experience of delivering impactful communications campaigns through traditional and social media, with measurable results
Video and editing skills
Knowledge and experience of SEO and targeted audience engagement via channels, such as Google Adwords and paid social, is advantageous
Ability to communicate effectively and accurately essential
Exceptional attention to detail
Solid research skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Effective at tracking, managing multiple tasks, details and deadlines
A motivated self-starter who can work within a small team and is flexible for occasional evening/weekend work.

Desirable skills and experience:
In-depth knowledge and experience across digital, traditional and social media.
Established relationships with the media.
Prior Public Affairs/Campaigns experience, or experience in a communications role in the community and voluntary sector.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is a voluntary charitable organisation that seeks to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of rape and other sexual violence. It provides counselling and support services to the survivors of sexual trauma as well as a wide range of educational training services. It advocates on behalf of the victims of sexual violence through policy and campaigning work as well as its interaction with the general public.
