Mental Health Promotion Officer – Mental Health Ireland – Co Dublin

Mental Health Ireland (MHI)
is a national voluntary organisation with a dynamic team and a network of Mental Health Associations (MHAs) active throughout the country. MHI aims to promote mental health, wellbeing & recovery using a process called coproduction to ensure that the voices of the end user are heard at all stages of programme development.
The successful candidate will have a passion for mental health promotion, experience in planning and innovation with specific skills in areas including mental health promotion, project planning, development and implementation, evaluation, training and facilitation and leadership.
They will be able to translate best practice and new emerging evidence into robust initiatives that can be mobilised and utilised by whole population in Ireland.

The successful candidate will be required to have:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in mental health, a mental health promotion field and/or community development and/or relevant voluntary experience.
A third level qualification in mental health, mental health promotion, community development and/or related social care field.
An understanding of the concept of mental health and its relationship to population health, wellbeing and sustainable development.
Experience of project initiation, planning, implementation and evaluation, the full arc and life cycle.
In depth knowledge of the health and social policy context in which MHI operates e.g. Sharing the Vision, Stronger Together The HSE Mental Health Promotion Plan 2022-2027, Healthy Ireland, National Recovery Framework, Connecting for Life and Slaintecare.
Knowledge and experience of research and evaluation in health promotion practice
Analytical skills with an ability to access information accurately and quickly.
Commitment to the mission and values of MHI
The ability to represent MHI across a diverse range of audiences and to build develop new collaborative partnerships with MHAs, HSE, service users/ family member/ supporters’ groups, community/ voluntary organizations, and cross-sectoral stakeholders.
The candidate will be expected to set KPIs in line with their workplan and track their progress against the MHI strategy.
Proven experience of using evidence informed methodology.
Proven experience of facilitation and group work.
Strong presentation skills in both content creation and delivery.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and to strict deadlines.
Ability to be agile in their approach to work.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to work using a coproduction process which includes the voice of lived experience, statutory, voluntary and community partners and the MHI Team.
Ability to engage successfully with marginalized, disadvantaged, or difficult to reach cohorts within our community.
Track record of working successfully across sectors to mobilize good will, and deliver innovative, bespoke programmes and projects with diverse project partners.
Excellent ICT, Office 365, web, design, and social media skills.
A high level of motivation, leadership experience and capacity for working on one’s own initiative as well as part of a team.
