Naas Child & Family Project – Kildare Youth Services –

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with responsibility for supporting children and families on the waiting list. The role includes completing comprehensive needs assessments with families and making recommendations to inform interventions and supports for families. Developing relationships with families and supporting families through their challenges while on a waiting list is a key function. Providing brief interventions with a focus on family and parenting capacity, as well as individual work with children, young people and parents are also functions of the role.

To be shortlisted for interview a candidate must demonstrate that they have:
A recognised third level qualification in one of the following:
Social care
Social Work
Psychology
Or other related discipline
A minimum of three years post qualification experience of working with parents, children and families in a paid capacity.
Knowledge of family systems and experience of family assessment work
Experience of planning and implementing interventions/supports in partnership with parents and children
Significant experience of brief intervention work
Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
The successful candidate will be employed by Kildare Youth Services (KYS) on a 6 month fixed-term contract, including a 3 month probationary period. Closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 14th June2019. Interviews are provisionally scheduled for Tuesday 25th June 2019.
