Staff Nurse – Rathdrum – Sunbeam House Services

STAFF NURSE
1 x PERMANENT FULL TIME POST (162.5 hrs. per month)
1 x PERMANENT PART-TIME POST (124 hrs. per month)
RATHDRUM, CO. WICKLOW

Working hours include, long day and night shifts over 7 days per week. Flexibility required to meet service requirements.

We seek dynamic people who are innovative, progressive and self-motivated. Applicants must have experience working with people who have difficulties expressing their needs due to complex communication issues and have the ability to put appropriate support plans in place. The social model of nursing covers all aspects of daily living activities and support in helping our service users have a quality day. Listening and responding to the needs of service-users is the hallmarks of our quality service. Annually we ask every person to tell us about their hopes and dreams for the future and their needs for the present. We then use CQL’s (Council on Quality and Leadership) Personal Outcome Measures as a tool to develop a person driven services.

Essential
Requirements for this role include:

Registered with An Bord Altranais.
RPN, RGN, RNID qualification.
1 year post graduate experience in the Intellectual Disability sector.
Knowledge and previous experience of using crisis prevention techniques.
Knowledge and experience managing complex, responsive behaviours and developing appropriate support plans.
Knowledge and experience in developing social, care and behavioural plans.
Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Excellent IT, administration, report writing and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and flexible.
A proven ability to work effectively and manage a team.
Ability to deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner.
Be available to work over a seven day work period
A car owner and hold a full clean current licence.
