Accounts Manager – Epilepsy Ireland – Dublin

We are currently recruiting for the position of Accounts Manager, based at our Head Office in Dublin.

The Role:

The Accounts Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and facilities/administration management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

The Candidate:

Qualified Accounting Technician or part qualified Accountant.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a similar level
High level accounting, analytical and numerical skills
Experience in producing monthly management accounts
Knowledge of and experience in producing monthly bank reconciliations
Ability to operate computer based payroll systems and online banking operations
Knowledge of computer-based financial accounting systems and software such as Exchequer, Sage or similar.
Experience of financial responsibility for producing periodic and annual forecasts and budgets
Experience of end of year accounts and external liaison with auditors
Knowledge of and experience of working with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for charities would be a distinct advantage
Experience and ability in facilities management.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff at all levels
Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, electronically and by telephone with a wide variety of individuals and organisations.
Ability to be flexible, respond positively to change, and work effectively under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities.
Experience of financial administration in the public or voluntary sector is desirable.
Previous experience of managing staff is desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.
