Financial Accountant – Catholic Institute for Deaf People

Summary:
The Catholic Institute for Deaf People is looking for a financial accountant to assist a busy finance team for a period of six months.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are the key areas of responsibility;
Assist with reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts across 5 entities
Assist with journal preparation and entry
Complete detailed analysis of various P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
Carry out initial data compilation and analysis for the changeover to a new accounting system
Other project work as it arises
Other assistance to the accounting team

Key Requirements:
Knowledge (Education & Related Experience):
2/3 years’ experience in a busy accounts department in practice or industry
Qualified/part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Experience in a charitable organisation an advantage but not essential
Good communication skills
Irish Sign Language or willingness to learn
Experience using accountancy software essential
Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word etc.)
Eligibility to work in Ireland

Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
Willingness to embrace ad hoc responsibilities outside of the accounting role in order to meet our client’s requirements
