Senior Practioner Fostering Link Worker – Origins Foster Care

Summary of Main Duties
Provide regular supervision and support for Foster Carers and their children.
Ensure that Foster Cares understand, accept and operate within all relevant standards, policies and guidance of the TUSLA Child & Family Agency
Ensure that Foster Carers receive all relevant information and advice about the children in their care.
Ensure that all work is recorded appropriately
Ensure that any concerns or significant incidents arising are responded to appropriately and in a timely manner, in line with the Children First Act 2015.
Build positive relationships with Tusla social work departments, ensure that all relevant information is communicated effectively and attend meetings where necessary.
Work to a high standard, in line with Origins Foster Care Policies and Guidance, the National Standards for Foster Care, Tusla Policies and Guidance, the Child Care Act 1991 and the Children First Act 2015.
Cover the Out of Hours service by rota
Complete Form F assessments and Foster Care Reviews
Assist in the delivery of Foundations for Fostering Training
Organise and assist in additional training for foster carers
Utilise the Origins Therapeutic Model in all work with foster families.
Travel to visit foster homes and attend meetings around Leinster area.
Person Specification, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 

The Ideal Candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Affinity with the work of Origins Foster Care and help to develop this in compliance with National Standards, Regulations and Policies
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
A high level of self motivation
Ability to work remotely from a home office and attend office based in Dublin City Centre for supervision, meetings and training.
A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience as a Social Worker.
Experience of working in both Child Protection and Fostering Social Work Departments.
Experience of complex case management.
Experience in completing Form F Fostering Assessments
Professional Social Work Qualification and registration with CORU is essential.
Additional training in the areas of attachment and developmental trauma
Excellent writing and IT skills
Full driving licence
