Advocacy and Research Officer – Multiple Sclerosis Ireland – Dublin

Key Duties to Include:
Support and progress MS Ireland’s advocacy and research agenda in line with the MS Ireland Strategic Plan
Proactively monitor and report on relevant developments in Irish and international policy and Practice in MS research and advocacy.
Explore opportunities to collaborate with similar organisations and academic institutions on advocacy and research issues.
Create, develop and maintain the advocacy and research content on the MS Ireland website.
Ensure consistency of MS Ireland’s message and strategy in National and Regional advocacy work
Develop timely Advocacy campaigns
Liaise and collaborate with researchers in the area of MS and explore ways to support research and disseminate relevant findings via MS Ireland’s website
Write reports and briefing documents, prepare materials, data and information to support campaigns and for in-house publications
Develop key messages for lobbying and promote awareness of MS Ireland and its core issues.
In consultation with the Services Development Manager, develop networks of stakeholders and allied organisations to devise and implement policies on particular issues of common good.
Work collaboratively with various teams within MS Ireland especially Regional Teams, the Information Officer and

Communications.
Become and remain familiar with issues affecting people with MS in Ireland and participate in relevant networks for the society.
Abide by the health and safety regulations of MS Ireland and statutory regulations, and abide by standard operating procedures relating to MS Ireland’s activities (e.g. fire procedures, safety of staff etc.) in order to ensure that the well-being of all staff, members and visitors is maintained.
Work within the policies of MS Ireland and the National Office in order to ensure that a consistent delivery of service and quality standards are adhered to.
From time to time perform such other tasks as may reasonably be required by MS Ireland to ensure the efficient running of the organisation in line with best practice standards.
