Job Background:

Concern Worldwide is currently advertising for the position of Technical Programme Support Officer in the Strategy Advocacy and Learning (SAL) Directorate in Concern Worldwide. SAL staff provides technical support in a number of areas including health, nutrition, water and sanitation, agriculture, natural resource management, education, markets, social protection and monitoring and evaluation.  SAL strives to support the development of effective, evidence-based and results driven programmes. The Technical Programme Support Officer will support the Head of the Technical Unit and the team of Advisers with administration and programme related tasks.

Job Purpose: To assist SAL technical staff to develop high quality health policy and programmes, through providing key programme, coordination and administrative support.

Main duties & Responsibilities:

Provide assistance to the unit with documentation and dissemination of programme learning including compilation of a periodic newsletters and organization of webinars;
Provide administrative support including organization of meetings and workshops, taking meeting minutes and drafting documents;
Provide assistance with tracking and reporting on programme activities and spending;
Provide assistance in the management of specific externally funded projects;
Develop literature reviews, case studies, and presentations  as requested;
Liaise with other departments as required to provide information on activities of SAL.

Person specification:

Essential:  

Masters in a subject area related to the technical areas mentioned above;
An interest in and understanding of global development issues;
Minimum 6 months experience working in an administrative or programmatic area related to one of the above technical areas;
Excellent organisational skills;
Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills in English including computer skills;
Ability to work both as part of a team & independently.

Desirable:

Previous overseas experience in a development or emergency context.
Previous experience managing donor budgets.
