Tutors “Training For Success” – Epilepsy Ireland – Sligo

Training For Success (TFS) is a pre-employment training programme for people with epilepsy based in the Institute of Technology, Sligo. Funded by SOLAS the 52 week programme provides successful participants with a FETAC accredited Level 4 Major Award in Employment Skills.

First established in 1998 the programme, the only one of its kind in Europe, Training For Success  aims as well as providing FETAC accreditation it also aims to help young people with epilepsy to;

Identify their own personal goals and plan to achieve them
Build confidence and self-esteem
Decide upon the career of their choice
Learn about the nature and management of epilepsy

Epilepsy Ireland is now preparing for the 2015-16 term and require tutors, experienced in delivering training to small groups (TFS maximum number is 14) of mixed learning ability and experience of standard education system, to deliver the following modules:

Maths
Information Technology
Teamworking
Communications
Career Planning
Interculturalism
Work Experience
Work Place Safety

Applicants should have experience of delivering training in a variety of styles as students are expected to participate in a wide variety of activities including lectures, tutorials, presentations, assignments, portfolio development, project work, discussion groups, one to one supported training, goal-setting, peer learning and outdoor pursuits.

DUTIES:

Tutors will be expected to teach assigned classes as deemed appropriate by management and to carry out assessment, monitoring and evaluation of examination work and provide academic and consultative support to students in their learning activities.
To participate in meetings appropriate to the course as convened by management.
To maintain appropriate records and make available information as required.
