RehabCare is the health and social care division of the Rehab Group. Our services include Resource Centre Services, Supported Accommodation, Residential Services, Respite Care, Outreach and Home Support Services. Over 3,000 children and adults with disabilities and older people in over 100 locations benefit from these services annually with further developments under way. Our aim is to enhance the lives of all of our service users through the provision of high quality, flexible, person-centred services.

Applications are now invited for the following position:
Care Worker, Permanent Contract – Various hours, South Kerry

Reporting to the Residential Services Manager through the Team Leader, the successful candidate will be involved in the following:

Work as part of a team in meeting the needs of individuals as set out in their support plan which includes personal care.
Assist with centre and community based programmes to promote quality of life, physical and emotional health.
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to ensure the dignity, privacy and choice of the service user at all times.

Qualifications and Experience required:
Minimum QQI level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent.
Experience in Mental health and Intellectual disabilities
Previous care work experience including experience with personal care.
Knowledge of food safety and food Hygiene
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills and will demonstrate an ability to contribute to a service culture of continuous improvement.
Strong report writing and IT skills.

A rotational shift system will operate within all the services and sleepover responsibilities and night duty will apply. A comprehensive training programme will be provided to all staff.
